Glass bottle production process

Crafted with Care, Sustained by Nature: Every Glass Bottle Born from 80% Recycled Brilliance, Fired by Innovation, and Cooled with Responsibility.

Raw Material Preparation

  • Ingredients: Primarily silica sand (SiO₂, ~70%), soda ash (Na₂CO₃, ~15%), limestone (CaCO₃, ~10%), and recycled glass cullet (crushed waste glass).

  • Mixing: Ingredients are precisely weighed and blended to ensure uniformity.

Melting in Furnace

  • The mixture is fed into a gas- or electric-fired furnace at ~1,500–1,600°C, forming molten glass.

  • Recycled cullet lowers melting energy and reduces environmental impact.

Forming

  • Blow-and-Blow Method (Common for narrow-neck bottles):

    • Molten glass is cut into “gobs” and dropped into molds.

    • Compressed air shapes the neck, then additional air expands the body.

  • Press-and-Blow Method (Wide-mouth containers):

    • A plunger presses the gob into a mold to form the shape, followed by air blowing.

Annealing

  • Bottles pass through an annealing lehr (oven) at 500–600°C, gradually cooling to room temperature.

  • Removes internal stresses to prevent cracking.

Surface Treatment & Coating

  • Hot-End Coating: A thin layer of tin or titanium oxide is applied for durability.

  • Cold-End Coating: A lubricant (e.g., polyethylene) is sprayed to reduce scratches.

Quality Inspection & Packaging & Shipping

  • Automated systems check for defects (e.g., cracks, bubbles, uneven thickness).

  • Pressure tests ensure leak-proof performance.

  • Bottles are sorted, packed, and prepared for distribution.
